1. Introduction & Overview

This Privacy Policy outlines how Real JSON Editor ("we", "our", or "the platform"), accessible at realjsoneditor.com, handles data when you use our web applications, editor utilities, code converters, and Progressive Web App (PWA).

Unlike conventional online developer tools that transmit your data to backend APIs for validation, formatting, or AI processing, Real JSON Editor is built with an uncompromising zero-backend payload architecture.

2. The Zero-Upload Guarantee

When you paste, upload, convert, validate, repair, diff, or query JSON data in Real JSON Editor:

  • All processing is executed exclusively in your browser’s memory using JavaScript, TypeScript, and sandboxed Web Workers.
  • No network requests containing your payloads, schema data, or syntax trees are ever dispatched to remote servers.
  • You can verify this at any time by inspecting the Network tab in your browser's Developer Tools (F12) while performing formatting or conversions.
  • Real JSON Editor can also function fully offline as a Progressive Web App (PWA) without an active internet connection.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

Because Real JSON Editor runs client-side, we do not collect, process, or store any of the following:

❌ Proprietary Payload DataJSON bodies, API responses, configuration files, and database records.
❌ Authentication CredentialsAPI keys, Bearer tokens, passwords, secrets, or environment variables.
❌ Personally Identifiable Data (PII)Names, email addresses, phone numbers, customer profiles, or financial information.
❌ Session Recordings & KeystrokesNo keystroke loggers, heatmaps, or screen-recording SDKs are loaded.

4. Local Browser Storage & Preferences

To provide a seamless developer experience, Real JSON Editor utilizes your browser’s standard localStorage API solely to preserve your non-sensitive application settings:

  • theme: Light or dark interface theme preference.
  • editor_tabs: Active tab selection and working state within your browser session so you do not lose unsaved work upon refreshing.
  • formatting_options: Indentation spaces (2 vs 4 spaces or tabs) and sort order preferences.

This data never leaves your browser and can be cleared instantly by clicking your browser’s "Clear Site Data" or "Clear Cookies & Local Storage" button.

5. Cookies and Web Beacons

Real JSON Editor does not use cookies for tracking, marketing, profiling, or cross-site identification. No third-party advertising cookies or remarketing pixels are installed on our website.

6. Third-Party CDNs and External Resources

To deliver rapid static assets and clean typography, our website may load:

  • Google Fonts: Web fonts (Geist, Geist Mono, Inter) to render crisp, readable code typography. Standard HTTP request headers (IP address and user agent) may be processed by Google's font CDN in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Static Web Hosting CDN: Global CDN edge nodes serve our compiled HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WebAssembly bundles. Standard server access logs (e.g. IP address, requested URI, timestamp) may be collected by hosting providers strictly for DDoS mitigation and infrastructure security.

7. GDPR, CCPA / CPRA & Global Compliance

Under the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and equivalent global regulations:

Because we do not store, sell, trade, or process personal data on backend servers, there is no database of user records to export, delete, or monetize. Your data remains 100% under your ownership and local jurisdiction at all times.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may occasionally update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical improvements or new browser standards. Any revisions will be published immediately on this page with an updated "Last Updated" timestamp. We recommend reviewing this document periodically.
